Being a Live-In care worker can represent some challenges. However, carers care because they have an innate desire to look after those who may find it difficult to care for themselves. I often ask myself the question, “why do care workers like to care?”. Whilst searching for the answer I came up with the following:
For some carers, caring may also be a calling or a natural inclination. They may feel a strong sense of responsibility to care for others and find it rewarding to provide support and assistance to those in need. Caring for others can also be a way for people to express their love and affection for the person they are looking after. Overall, there can be many different reasons why carers enjoy caring for others, and it can be a deeply meaningful and fulfilling experience. We at A Class Care ensure that we only recruit carers that have a genuine interest in caring for people.
Valentine's Day is a day to celebrate love and affection, and care workers are often in a unique position to provide care and support to those who may not have someone to celebrate the day with. Our Live-In Care workers provide a unique support as they will spend that extra time and care to provide emotional support and companionship to those they care for, particularly those who may be feeling lonely or isolated.
Whilst Valentine’s Day is commonly associated with sharing love between a spouse or partner it has evolved and Valentine's Day is a day to celebrate all forms of love and affection, including friendships and familiar relationships.

They have been married for over 70 years and have 10 children, 17 grandchildren and 11 greatgrandchildren. They are fiercely independent but occasionally have the support from community Carers. Their love for each other never waivers and they will always be each other valentines. The things I have learnt from them are:
I hope you find their words of wisdom useful.
So, today, from us All at A Class Care we would like to wish you love, kindness and happiness on this day. Don’t forget to share the day with people that you love and care for. Please spare a moment to think about those on their own today. From us to you happy Valentines Day.
